Annual
Diary
With
exhibitions, conferences and seminars being slated for the year ahead,
we take a look at the ones that shouldnt be given a miss
PCV
Expo 2004
The Pumps, Compressors, Valves, driving gears and engines
(PCV) Expo is being held from October 5-8, 2004 at the Sokolniki Culture
and Exhibition Centre, Moscow. With more than 11,000 sq metres of exhibition
space, more than 400 exhibitors are expected. During the last PCV Expo
held in 2003, the exhibition had 330 participants, with 40 foreign companies
exhibiting there, and a total of 12,258 visitors. Some of the products
being displayed include industrial pumps, household pumps, industrial
pipeline valves, engines, and field compressors.
The event comprises several exhibitions such as Pneumatics Tools 2004,
Valves 2004, and Driving Gears and Engines 2004. Pneumatics Tools 2004
is an exhibition of Systems of automation, diagnostics and monitoring
pneumatic systems, equipment and tools; sealing machinery and compressors
for gas production, oil production and petroleum refining, refrigerating
and conditioning; and mobile and handheld compressor units among other
industries.
Valves 2004 is an exhibition of industrial pipeline valves, sanitary
valves, and construction valves. The products being displayed in Driving
Gears and Engines 2004 include standard driving gears, power engines,
hydraulic drives and their component parts, pneumatic drives, special
drives. In addition, motor reduction gears, clutches, brakes, bearings,
driving belts, control circuits, oils, systems of control and regulation
and control and measurement equipment will also be exhibited.
At the Repair, Reconditioning And Retrofitting 2004 exhibition, companies
will showcase products in diagnostics, repair and reconditioning of
industrial equipment in the chemical, petrochemical, metallurgical and
other industries, heating systems, water and sewerage pipelines.
RD&D Expo
The Research Development and Design Expo, a premier
event focused on new design and discovery, will be held in conjunction
with the 2004 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress, November.
13-19, in Anaheim, California. Presented by ASME and Unicomm, LLC, the
RD&D Expo will showcase a variety of new engineering tools for advanced
design, analysis, and testing. Together, the Expo and Congress will
form the west coasts largest engineering event of the year, along
with the adjacent American Vacuum Society event also being held at the
Anaheim Convention Center.
Featured among the nearly 100 exhibitors expected at this years
conference, Leister Technologies, will display a gas sensor that is
expected to perform as well as infrared sensors in the market. The companys
new gas sensor is an electrically modulated micro system featuring low
thermal mass and high spectral distribution. The device is manufactured
with no mechanical parts in order to ensure longer life in many industrial
applications.
Many other technology companies will join Leister at the RD&D Expo,
including LatchToolLatchTools Engineering and Technology, who
will unveil the PowerCylinder hydraulic pump system, which features
specially designed valves that reduce or eliminate the need for external
reservoirs and accumulators in industrial applications.
Dr Josh Hoyt, Senior Vice President, LatchTools Engineering and
Technology, likens the PowerCylinder to a turbo charges actuator with
automatic transmission. More succinctly, he equates the impact of the
PowerCylinder to the impact rare earth magnets had on motor miniaturisation.
Other firms, including Noran Engineering, Owens Corning, Sandia National
Laboratories and Veeco Instruments, will exhibit innovative engineering
tools and instruments, computer-aided design software, instrumentation
products, and test and measurement systems, among other technologies
needed to keep pace in a rapidly changing world of engineering research
and design.
International Power expo
The fourth International Exhibition on Energy and
Power and the fourth International Energy and Power Conference are being
held between September 22-24 , 2004 in Feria de Zaragoza Carretera,
Spain, with a total exhibition space of 15,000 sq m.
The objective of the exhibition is to heighten awareness of the need
for efficient, sustainable power production and utilisation systems.
In addition, the event aims to disseminate the technological advances
and promote the commercial interchanges that lead to a more efficient,
diversified, decentralised and environment-friendly power projects.
The conference, which will be held as part of the event, will focus
on:
Power generation, transport, distribution
and marketing
Power project engineering companies and consultants
Designers, manufactures and distributors of power generation, transport
and distribution systems, that employ the following:
Fossil fuel in applications such as diesel and gas engines, electrical
equipment, instruments and control, gas and steam turbines, and combined
cycle plants
Renewable energy in wind, hydroelectric, biomass and solid municipal
waste, solar, thermal and photovoltaic applications as well as in fuel
cells
Transmission and Distribution in remote metering and telecommunications
Energy service projects with regard to project development and financing,
classification and certification, insurance, and information.
The Power Expo will help industry players to analyse the development
of the deregulated energy markets and the new business opportunities
made available in those markets. It will also serve as the meeting point
for international companies and institutions seeking contacts in the
Spanish market, regions with potential, such as Europe, Latin America
and North Africa, as well as companies with close ties ...
